Tekirdağ Malkara Generator Project
Standby power for a facility in Malkara, Tekirdağ, now comes from a 41 kVA Berksan silent-canopy generator driven by a Ricardo engine, shipped by truck from our factory, then installed and commissioned on site.
Solution implemented on site
For a facility in the Malkara district of Tekirdağ, the requirement was clear: lighting, IT systems and the equipment used in daily operations had to keep running through power outages. We took a close look at the facility's existing consumption figures and operating pattern, and the numbers showed that a 41 kVA unit could handle these loads reliably. Our choice was a Berksan standby generator built on a Ricardo engine and housed in a silent canopy.
When we surveyed the site, we settled on the generator's location, the direction of the exhaust outlet, the open space the unit would need around it to breathe freely, and the cable route. To get the generator ready for shipping, we wrapped its canopy in stretch film so it would not get scratched on the road. Loaded by forklift onto a curtainside truck at the factory, the unit was set in Malkara at the spot chosen during the survey and secured in place; the power cables were then run and the automatic transfer switch (ATS) connection was made.
Commissioning focused on two points: the unit had to carry the facility's load without trouble and start up on its own, with no one having to intervene, when the grid went down. The generator carried real operating demand throughout the load test; in an outage we simulated by disconnecting the incoming utility feed, the ATS switched the supply over to the generator, then reconnected the facility to the grid when power came back. At the Malkara facility, the 41 kVA Berksan unit we delivered in 2026 now comes online quickly whenever grid power fails, keeping lighting, IT systems and equipment running even through extended outages.
