Konak Residence B Blok Generator Project

For Konak Residence B Blok in Istanbul, we prepared a backup power solution tailored to the building so that the shared areas of the residence would not be affected by mains outages. After reviewing the loads that cannot tolerate interruption — the lift, the water booster pump, common-area lighting and the security systems — a 35 kVA Berksan silent-type generator with a Kofo engine was selected as the most suitable solution for the block's requirements.

During the site survey, the indoor car park area where the generator would be positioned, the exhaust routing, the ventilation conditions and the cable paths were examined and a layout plan was drawn up. The unit was seated on anti-vibration mounts and secured; the flexible exhaust pipe was routed outside along the cable tray running beneath the ceiling, and the power cabling and automatic transfer switch (ATS) connections were completed.

During commissioning, the generator was run under load and its automatic start-up time, load transfer and protection functions were verified. Once the tests had been completed successfully, the residents of Konak Residence B Blok gained a building — handed over in 2026 — in which the lift, the water supply and the common-area lighting keep working even during power cuts.
